BETWEEN TRADITIONS OF THE PAST AND VISIONS OF THE FUTURE
Judenburg is located in a region which looks back proudly over more than a century of successful steel production and processing.
As early as 1906, pioneers in steel Sebastian DANNER and Konrad WITTGENSTEIN established the Steirische Gußstahlwerke Danner & Co. In subsequent years the steel smelting works was supplemented by a rolling mill and a forge. Changes in ownership and the two world wars left the company virtually unscathed. The steel crisis in the seventies and eighties led the company to its strategically significant decision to concentrate on bright steel in Judenburg – a decision which had become necessary in view of the changing requirements of the global market.
In 1995, GEORGSMARIENHÜTTE GmbH finally acquired a 100% stake in the then VOEST-ALPINE STAHL Judenburg GmbH, a subsidiary of VOEST-ALPINE-DONAWITZ.
Today Stahl Judenburg GmbH is regarded as one of the world’s leading manufacturers in a variety of areas in an extremely tough and competitive industrial sector. We consider ourselves to be a materials supplier with a high degree of quality and customer orientation as well as an industrial company realising high standards in terms of ecological awareness.
We are proud to work in a town which is surrounded by splendid scenery and an unspoilt environment. Customers and partners are welcome to visit and admire our magnificent mountain region at any time.
